Most of the O2 Mobile telephone network in the uk is offline
from down around 8pm.
** UPDATE **
It is believed the coverage went down from 6pm until 3am with services across parts of the Midlands, South West and Northern Ireland being affected.
O2 say full service has now resumed although there may be a “few remaining issues with voicemail”.
The company said the network fault was caused by a damaged transmission link following planned engineering work in Yate, near Bristol.
